API: An Application Programming Interface; specifies how software components should interact with each other and allows the communication and transfer of data between systems.

Cloud-based: A service hosted on the Internet, rather than on a physical device. Cloud-based systems can be accessed by any device connected to the internet rather than being installed and only accessible from the device it is installed on.

Email Append: Matching your data against available email addresses and adding the new email addresses to the corresponding records in your data.

Microsite: A single web page or a small cluster of pages purposefully built to perform a specific function. Content is kept to a minimum and usually only one call to action exists to not distract the user.

Phone Append: Matching your data against available phone numbers and adding the new phone numbers to the corresponding records in your data.

PURL: Personalized Uniform Resource Locator; a successful mean used to attract customers using personalized URLs on direct marketing pieces. PURLs allow for the displaying, tracking, and gathering of user specific information.

QR Code: Quick Response Code; consists of dots forming a pattern that can be read by an imaging device (such as a phone camera). The URL is extracted and the user is directed to an online webpage.

SEO: Search Engine Optimization is the ability of your website to show up near the top of Search Engines(Google, Yahoo, etc). This is done by a combination of many things including using relevant content and best coding practices.

URL: Uniform (or universal) Resource Locator; the address of a World Wide Web page

VIP: Variable Image Personalization; made possible by the use of digital printing, recipient’s names are incorporated realistically into images and photographs to create a personalized direct marketing piece.
